I went with Raybestos for the rotors and pads this time since they’re a brand I’ve used before and trust for consistency.

Pros: trusted brand, consistent quality

For rotors, raybestos is a solid bang for your buck and I haven’t had any problems with them

Just had a major service done on 2017 Hilux 4x4. replaced front rotors and pads and comprehensive safety check and report. The best quality service I’ve ever experienced

Pros: best quality service

front brakes are solid, i had trouble finding break disc locally for 4x100, and calipers you can buy rebuild kits or whole new ones.

Pros: solid front brakes

Cons: hard to find disc

Look for rotors made from high-carbon iron. High carbon rotors are going to handle heat and resist cracking/warping better than normal grey-iron rotors. They don't have to be extremely expensive either.

Raysbestos Street Performance rotors are high carbon and probably available on Rockauto.

Pros: handle heat, resist cracking

Cons: normal grey-iron rotors

I swapped out some very sad stock rotors for slotted ones and I DID notice a difference but only because I'd done the pads as well and well.... fresh brakes!

Pros: noticed a difference

OEM rotors rust like that in snowy areas, they look unevenly worn. If it gets a little worst you’re going to replace the pads and rotors. Ray bestos makes pads/rotors coated with zinc that won’t rust like the OEM ones.

Pros: zinc coated, won’t rust

Cons: unevenly worn, rust easily

I used Raybestos rotors this last time, and they are OK, but they have a little vibration to them.

Get Advics as they're closest to OEM money can buy, stay away from Raybestos i've had nothing but quality issues when I got those rotors.
