Have girodisks on my turbo 987.1 s, love them. Much better feel and braking performance
Yup. Love them on my 987.1.
I have girodisc’s on my 981 cayman, they are fantastic rotors, I started off with DS2500 pads but I used up >50% of all the pads in one track weekend at road Atlanta, I’ve got another event this weekend but I’m running DS1.11 this time around.
Absolutely love my girodiscs. I’m on DS2500s which its time for an upgrade to a more aggressive pad, but they’ve held up through quite some heat lol.
Went from OEM to Girodisc 350mm. All street, no track. By far the best upgrade I have done to my 991.2 C4.
I use them. Hard to say if they’re better than stock but they’re cheaper
My car started doing that at around 5000 miles. After a few visits to the dealership, they replaced all four rotors. From 60-0 miles, it would vibrate pretty badly and make humming loud noises. It was good for a few thousand miles, but it started to do it again.
I purchased a 2021 Jetta with approx. 14,xxx miles on it. After a 4 hour drive, I noticed what sounded like an extremely rusty brake rotor sound (metal/metal grinding) as well as the sound of an unbalanced wheel or un-evenly worn tire. A local VW dealership reported that both rear tires were showing major cupping and that the brake rotors were so rusted that they were pitting and would not pass VA state safety inspection.
I was fairly unimpressed that the brand new rotors out of the box have some surface rust. I suspect these have been on a shelf for a long time.
Am I right to be upset that I was told the rotors are warped because I went through a puddle with hot brakes? Costing me $1300 to fix!
