Brake discs Brembo or Zimmermann

Brembo Brake discs

About a year ago I looked up on a lot of forums and decided to order the original blank face rotors from brembo and EBC red stuff pads front & back. Was about $600 to 700 with the brakes pads being the most money.

Pros: original rotors, good performance
Cons: pads are expensive

I went with brembo quiet cast rotors from rock auto and EBC red stuff from a different website- although I did my crv’s rotor and pads ordered from rock auto and no issues

Pros: no issues

For just over $600 and two separate weekends of doing rears first then fronts, I did a complete OEM replacement Brembo brake job. New rotors, new pads, new clips.

Pros: complete replacement, good job

The Brembo rotors for the i3 are the poorer quality than the OEM Zimmermann. Don't waste your money. Brake dust is not a big concern in general since it washes off easily, especially for the i3.

Pros: washes off easily
Cons: poorer quality than OEM
Vehicle: BMW

I’m bummed a year into my new Brembo rotors and they are rusting at the hub. It looked like they had silver paint on them. Damn it.

Cons: rusting at the hub
