I got ate powerdiscs and they are pretty good! I got them as a set with ate pads. I wish they had a bit more bite but maybe that’s due to being 296mm, maybe bigger brakes are needed next time

Pros: pretty good, good quality
Cons: lacks bite
Vehicle: BMW

Textar Brake discs

I did mine recently. Purchased new guild pins and boots from rock auto and replaced them while I was at it. For rotors I like Zimmerman, pagid, brembo or textar. And pad I like semi metallic, preferably pagid or textar. For this particular brake job I went with textar rotors and a combination or trw and textar pads. Took me roughly 2-2.5 hours and cost me about 680 CAD. I flushed about a L of pentosin dot 4 through too.

Pros: easy to install, cost effective

ATE Brake discs

FWIW: I replaced the rotors (ATE), pads (Akebono), and brake fluid (Pentosin) last year, which cost me $291 and was not difficult at all.

Pros: not difficult at all
Vehicle: Volkswagen

ATE Brake discs

Just did a brake job, new ATE OEM rotors up front with new Hawk HPS pads. Just did the run to bed them in, and I'm hearing a wierd noise. When I step on the brakes at a moderate or heavy level I hear kind of a "plunking" noise, I guess you could call it. It has a rhythm that changes with the speed of the car (i.e. the plunking slows down as the wheels slow down).

Pros: new rotors and pads
Cons: weird noise, plunking sound

ATE Brake discs

Our 03 Variant Tip needed rear pads at 30,000. Got the ATE rotors and "OEM" pads from 1stVWParts. No complaints about price, etc BUT the pads actually put out MORE dust than the stock ones!!!!!

Pros: no complaints about price
Cons: pads put out more dust
Mileage: 30000 km
