Varta Battery

We needed to replace the original German Varta battery in our '14 A4 (date code Jun '13) after the first polar vortex in early '19. OE list was $227 (non AGM), discounted to about $195 at the local Audi parts counter. Advance Auto had an equivalent H9 for about $170, but the local store only had one with a late '16 date code (and proper BEM sticker). So they sold it to me as a \"used battery\" (after running their condition test and passing) to me for $45 + tax. Two years later, so far, so good.

Pros: so far, so good
Vehicle: Audi A4

I took the hit and got a Varta, been perfect since! It’s a second car that is often left for 3 weeks or more and I get a perfect start every time with the Varta battery.

I have a varta that I've been using for 36 months now but the car is 100% parked indoors and never used for short trips where battery can't charge properly.

Pros: long lifespan (36 months)

Varta Battery

Bought VARTA 12V, 45/60 AH (not sure) battery with 20 months warranty for 230 Aed from New bharath pitstop, Al Qusais.

Go for Amaron or any battery with higher warranty period. Don't go for just 1 year as the weather in UAE is pretty harsh on batteries.

Pros: higher warranty period
Cons: weather harsh on batteries

Tesla Battery

Had a Tesla (my username checks out) Model S since 2012 in Ottawa. No problem. Prepare to lose range during winter. (20%ish ) Preheating is key. Check out PlugShare for charging stations. I drove the car in -32 and +32 ! It’s great.

Pros: no problem
Cons: lose range during winter

Tesla Battery

Tesla Model 3 long range and 2018 Leaf for over a year now.

Winter is about 30% less range at very cold, worse for short drives where you need to heat a lot for the whole drive (and if battery is cold). In the later case you're near home so it doesn't matter.

Pros: instantaneous torque at 0
Cons: 30% less range

Tesla Battery

I have a Tesla Model 3 I got last year and drove it every day during last winter. No problems other than it uses a bit more of your battery to go. Also using the heat uses a bit more battery as well. I would say about a 20-25% loss in range compared to summer driving.

Pros: electricity is pennies compared to gas
Cons: 20-25% loss in range

My 2019 M3 with 50K miles says 288 miles today (310 original) but it has been far lower at times (255 miles) and bounces around.

Pros: 288 miles today
Cons: bounces around
Mileage: 50000 km

Varta Battery

It was a Varta battery. And dial a battery and car guru provide similar services right? And I only talked about battery prices as the service to come to my place was provided via insurance. Secondly yes I accepted it as I had to go out in a hurry but in my opinion they seem to be expensive when directly compared to their competitors.

Cons: expensive compared to competitors
