Had a yellow optima that went 10 years and it started to slow a bit. Replaced the yellow with a red 6 years ago and it’s still fine.
I use oem bc I get discounted price else I’d use optima, bc I personally on my cars with optimas have never had a problem and oldest is coming up on 9 years
I went to the store and traded the core of my perfectly "good" DieHard Gold (~18 mos old) and spent $400 on an Optima Yellow Top. The difference was immediate. Interior lights were brighter, mirrors functioned normally, no 'system off' garbage, truck opened and closed without hesitation. It starts strong and fast. With the temperature dropping, the peace of mind has been 100% worth the price. I even put the portable jump starter back in the garage. It worked.
I bought a red top optimum for my 2019 forester sport. Have had it in for almost 2 years without issue thus far.
I’ve had my iX for 2.5 years and have logged 122k miles. I haven’t noticed any degradation in battery capacity. Just the normal summer/winter fluctuations (live in Midwest).
My replacement was a Blue Top 34M and it's 8 years old. No issues with Optima here.
The optimas (red top) I got in 2019 are still going. They are not the best though just better than liquid.
I got stuck getting an optima for my truck because the one that was in it literally exploded.
530e with a little over 20,000 miles shows 10 miles electric range on a nice summer day. It used to show 15 when new. BMW said that the drop was not warranty worthy.
10 years ago, in Florida, I bought the red top battery for my F250 diesel. It blew up under the hood and sprayed battery juice on everything. It was only a few months old. Discount Auto replaced it for free under warranty. But I wouldn't buy another red top.
