Alternator OEM Toyota or VALEO
I then ordered a Valeo from Bimmerworld which arrived seized. Finally ordered the same Valeo from RockAuto (for less money, too) which has been working great so far.
Owned a 4th gen 4runner for over 10 years. Boring to drive and look at, but it took a lot of abuse and never gave me any problems. It only had to be towed once due to the alternator going out on me 50 miles from home.
I thought Valeo was OEM? Cost me like $250 and was a perfect match.
The same thing happened to me. 2012 Toyota Camry LE. The car never asked for anything other than brakes and tires. At 120000 my alternator went out on the beginning of a vacation trip.
I just did alternator on my wife’s Toyota. Paid $340 for it and did it myself in 10min. All I did was google for the parts store that had it in hand. YouTube how to remove and install.
I replaced my alternator with a Valeo unit. They manufacture the OEM part. Think it was 300$ or so, while OEM was almost double. Just a heads up, there’s almost zero clearance to remove the alternator. Really tight fit.
Radiator let go about 12 months ago, and suspension is well overdue for new bushings. Also recently had to replace an alternator.
my car had a 120A valeo, total b!tch to get out even with the front end removed, hard to get the ground wire off, will put the new one on in the AM
In the process of replacing the alternator..it was bad.
My mk3 golf is at the shop right now because I installed a replacement valeo alternator and it didnt seem like a perfect fit and shredded up the serpentine belt. I think the shop I got the replacement from gave me a bad fit.
