Got a Denso Reman, and my mechanic installed it and kept the car for a week to test. So far so good.

He commented that before the alternator replacement, volts would go low when the engine was warm. Now they're pretty stable.

Pros: volts are stable
Cons: volts low when warm
Vehicle: Lexus

Denso Alternator

These cars have a lot of electronics. A cheap alternator might not be able to handle the load as well. I sell parts for a living and definitely recommend going with a denso instead.

Pros: Denso is recommended
Cons: cheap alternator not recommended

Only only only get oem alternator. They won’t last otherwise. I believe the brand is denso. Other brand only lasted 3 months in mine.

Pros: OEM lasts longer
Cons: other brands failed quickly

Denso Alternator

Get the denso reman. Most reasonable option vs buying a new denso at the dealer. Main difference is no Honda logo otherwise absolutely identical.

Pros: reasonable option, identical quality
Cons: no Honda logo

It went out at 40,000 miles and was replaced without issue by the dealer which provided an A6 as a loaner for the week it took to replace the alternator. I still love the car and would not move to Mercedes

Pros: replaced without issue
Cons: went out at 40000 miles
Vehicle: Audi S6
Mileage: 40000 km

When my alternator went out I got an aftermarket that failed within the week. Afterwards I was told that the element alternator is in a spot that gets more heat than a normal car so it needs a higher temp solder. I got the denso oem after and it’s still good after 5 years

Pros: Denso OEM good after 5 years
Cons: aftermarket failed within week
