I just replaced the water pump on my 2011 today. Took me about 1.5 hours and was 150$ from Amazon. Aisin pump.

Replace water pump. 100% oem or aisin.

Use a good pump like a Aisin, cause you don’t want to do it again in a year.

The all metal pierburg water pumps last longer than the plastic ones.

I'd recommend looking at an upgraded Pierburg water pump. None of the plastic bits & will save you from replacing it again in a few years.

Water pumps, I tend to stick with OEM now. Gates used to be great but has gone down hill imo.

The verdict was that the WP was leaking through the weep hole and a replacement would be $650.

Had to get water pump done on my A6 at 90000km / ~56000 miles. Was a couple years older than yours at the time, but still felt pretty low mileage to me.

I have a 2021 BS BB and I’m on my 3rd water pump replacement. 1st one around 20k miles, 2nd at 40k, now at the dealer with 51k miles and replacing it yet again.

It’s a Vw water pump. It would have failed shortly after install anyway
