I used to use rainx washer fluid. It gets reapplied every time you use your washerfluid so as far as application, there really isn't any. Water beaded up and on the highway even in heavy rain i wouldnt have to use my wipers as the rain slicked off like stars in a star wars movie. But it's not cheap.

Pros: water beaded up
Cons: not cheap

Yeah I’ve had no issues with sensors or freezing while using the orange rainx in my past two vehicles. I just like the beading effect the rainx has on the glass. Makes a huge difference in the rain.

Pros: no issues with freezing, beading effect

Just dont use the rainx fluid (orange). The blue stuff that has the cold rating (sold at gas stations) is good enough for me.

Pros: good enough for me
Cons: dont use rainx fluid

It's magical - it cleans everything off the glass of my 2017 A4, and it seems to have some sort of wax or protecting agent to boot.

Pros: magical cleaning, wax/protecting agent
Vehicle: Audi A4

The washer fluid factory fill is awesome. Nothing dissolves bug guts on glass like that stuff. My reservoir was filled with only the factory fluid all of last winter, and it never froze up or clogged. The strong alcohol smell of the factory fluid got me a breathalyzer test at a RIDE check once.

Pros: dissolves bug guts, never froze
Cons: strong alcohol smell

Quick fix for poor souls who suffered from evil Rain-X. Go to nearest pharmacy, buy two 22 oz bottles of 91% isopropyl rubbing alcohol. Empty your washer fluid reservoir by constantly running the pump for 2 min. Pour both bottles of rubbing alcohol into reservoir.

Pros: quick fix
Cons: suffered from Rain-X

In the days of my Mk IIIs I used Rain-X washer fluid. It made the lower seal below the windshield turn into soft crumbly gum. At least I've always assumed it was the Rain-X stuff. I haven't used it since. It worked pretty well as Rain-X with no rubbing, though. I was impressed until it came apart. Fortunately the seal had some mysterious purpose, as it was outside and below the windshield and the loss of it didn't cause water leaks.

Pros: worked well as Rain-X
Cons: damaged windshield seal

Defiantly blue stuff. I used to use the green Rain X in a Honda Civic and it gummed up the line and motor to the point I had to have it replaced twice.

Cons: gummed up line and motor
Vehicle: Honda Civic

I recently used the new rain-x formula and I still got my sensor washer light come on now and won't go away swapped back over to the cheap blue washer formula.

Cons: sensor light stays on

Side-note BMW's smells like peaches  Doesn't work for crap in cold weather, we had do change a lot of pumps out even when doubling the concentration. Would freeze up when it hit the teens and split those suckers right in two.

Pros: smells like peaches
Cons: freezes in cold weather
Vehicle: BMW
