I cannot recommend the Cooper Discoverer AT3s enough.

I have a set that has just over 70k on them (will be replacing within a month or so), and I have put them through everything.

I have driven back and forth across the country multiple times and gone rock crawling in Moab and Death Valley (among several other places).

They have always performed well in all weather conditions and have negligible road noise.

Pros: good in all conditions, negligible road noise
Mileage: 70000 km

We are currently running the Michelin LTX MS2 on our ‘08 Limited - we’ve been running Michelins for about 250,000 mi. So, I’d go for the Defender, if that’s the Michelin choice.

When we bought our Limited, the dealer put the AT3 sports on it. They did just fine in rain and snow, a few trips from NM to CA and forest service roads in CO. We got about 60k out of them. I have the defenders on the vehicle now and am happy with them as well.

Pros: fine in rain and snow
Mileage: 60000 km

I got theCooper AT3’s for my 2012 4runner and loved them, drove more than 50k (and counting). They give a deep tread and were a game changer (vs Dunlops) especially in any rain or snow. All it took was one sleet/snow to feel the difference. I’ve also driven cross country four times with the Coopers and never noticed any issues with noise or mpg.

Pros: deep tread, game changer
Cons: no issues with noise
Mileage: 50000 km

Have had the defenders. They’re great tires. Just couldn’t handle the donut look so I got Nitto ridge grapplers that I hate. Thinking of going with the Coopers next. But I’m not sure anything can beat the defenders for road driving.

Pros: great tires, road driving
Cons: donut look

Rain season. This is awesome tire when ride in down hill GA. Handle in rain condition is best with this tire. A little road noice worth in my Tesla Model 3. Safety come first. Rain and slight snow. This tire is outperformed than it advertised.

Pros: handle in rain condition best
Cons: a little road noice

If your car feels like it’s bouncing/bobbing sideways (I’m guessing that’s what you mean by “bubbling”), it’s probably due to the softer material used on the winter tires. I’m running a set of Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady and they show the same behavior. The effect will less noticeable eventually as the tire passes the break-in period.

Cons: softer material

These tires are not great. My GTI I bought had them on and I’m just riding them out. This will be their last season. They’ve been loud the entire time I’ve had them and aren’t great on any road condition.

Pros: last season
Cons: loud, not great
Vehicle: Volkswagen
