MICHELIN Tires

Sounds like you need better snow tires. Or you need to learn to drive in the snow. I did just fine in Houghton with an NA Miata on Michelin X-Ices, and in a low slung FWD Volvo C30 on Vredestein Wintrac Pros.

Pros: good performance in snow
Vehicle: Mazda

Firestone Tires

You need some better snow tires. I had Firestone Winterforce 2 UV tires on my Jeep and almost always just needed RWD in the UP unless I drove to breakers and it was 12” of snow

Pros: better snow tires
Vehicle: Jeep

Continental Tires

I have them on my beater/commuter/errand bike

No qualms and they do the job they are supposed to do. I wouldn’t put them on any of my fun bikes, but they are perfect on a bike that I just “set and forget.”

Pros: do the job

I bought a 95 ranger that had a new set of these tires. I drove with the for about 1,000 miles before switching to the good year wranglers just because of preference. But I didn’t have any problems with them they were surprisingly quiet and rode smooth.

Pros: quiet, rode smooth
Cons: preference for Goodyear
Vehicle: Ford Ranger
Mileage: 1000 km

Continental Tires

I run them on several bikes. Not completely puncture proof, but I have only had one or two punctures in the five years of running them. I like them for daily commuting and are my go to.

Pros: good for commuting
Cons: not puncture proof

Used them for many years commuting in London. Normally loads of rubbish/glass/oil on the road etc and were fine.

Pros: fine on rubbish roads

Maxxis Tires

Personally, I will never not recommend Maxxis Re-Fuse. Crappy city streets strewn with broken everything, one puncture in a dozen years. I’m on my third pair only because treads wear out. Not the greatest rolling resistance, apparently, but not really a concern for me

Pros: one puncture in years
Cons: not greatest rolling resistance

Continental Tires

2000 miles on them so far. No punctures yet and I ride through terrible roads and potholes. I have noticed the back tire being slippery on wet roads like people mentioned but I don't ride in the wet.

Pros: no punctures yet
Cons: slippery on wet roads
Mileage: 3218 km
