Falken Tires

I've had Falken FK520 on my MK4 Golf R32 as well as on my BRZ currently. Pretty good price for daily and back roads if you're not immediately taking it to the track or autoX

Pros: pretty good price

GT radial UHP AS tires are like $70 a tire, and more than good enough for the street. I even took them on track for a session, and while they are a bit floppy, they're also way better in the rain and more comfortable than most summer tires.

Pros: good for the street, better in rain
Cons: a bit floppy
Vehicle: Toyota

Kumho Tires

After blowing out a tire on a particularly nasty pothole I replaced my stockers with a set of Kumho Ecsta PA51 XLs. These are a nice, reasonably priced set of ultra-high performance all seasons that I'd been running on my MR2 Turbo and been very happy with.

Pros: nice, reasonably priced

I have a 22 CX-5 and replaced my Toyo A36 tires with the Defender 2s. I was already considering switching them out as I dont like the feel, but I noticed today I only got 27.2 mpg on the highway. This is the same trip I make all the time and used to get 30 to 31mpg on the Toyo tires.

Cons: lower mpg, dislike feel
Vehicle: Mazda

Continental Tires

The service manager of my local tire dealership told me these Continental tires were great tires. Never had continental tires before. The first time there was a bubble on the sidewall of the tire of course they never told me about the warranty or the class action lawsuit over it. So I shelled out $350 to have it replaced. The second time it blew out by the same company who sold them to me but a different location. They told me it should be under warranty and it took a while, but they ended up having no charge But I had to pay the $35 warranty in case it happened again and the tire and balance along with it. Not too long after that tire had the same issue (bubble) luckily I've been through it before and got it replaced for free, but not after a bunch of jacking around and of course, my time my effort and waiting for them to do it and the balancing etc. fees Here I am in July 2024 and another bubble on the sidewall the tire. I'm furious.

Cons: bubble on sidewall

I'm furious. I called Continental and they basically said sorry they'll have to go through normal channels to see if it's warranted. Pretty much had a nonchalant attitude. So I asked the guy. What would you do if it was you and all your time and effort and $350 down the drain and because the first guy didn't tell you it should've been warrantied , he said I would just continue to let them replace them on warranty. Pretty much no help. So here I am waiting to find out from the third location of the same place who sold them to me if they will be warrantied. Never buy continental tires ever ever again.

Cons: bubble on sidewall
