Owner reviews for tie rods
i went 555 for my tie rods. if you can find em, 555 is the answer for most things up front.
I used lemforder for my tie rods and I’ve had no issues after 5-10k miles.
I had it on my 3 series and they even covered replacement of my tie rod when the bushing blew.
I bought the dorman brand ones for my 1985 Toyota pickup and they seem to be holding up well, you really don’t know until you try them
it's a 23mm tie rod in both right and left threads, by 555, no jam nut included, it shows fitment for other years as well but i've never done that... yes there is no grease zert
Biggest dramas i've had is one bent tie rod and ripped the boot on the CV's a few times, always when i've hit a rut being silly.
I went for an inspection and he told me I needed my tie rods replaced. A second opinion said they were fine and passed me.
The z3 doesn't adjust the same way. To make a toe adjustment you have to pop the ball joints every time and they can only be adjusted by one full turn each time. It sucks to make adjustments.
Unfortunate but I also have to poop on Moog parts. Back in my first couple of vehicles they were the absolute best 100,000 kilometer parts on the market... They got sold a long while back and use plastic and chinesium instead of American steel and bearings in most half their parts now..... Put in a moog tie rod and it didn't even last me 10,000 km in my most recent repairs...
