Look into Eibach shocks. I have bilstein 5100 on front with eibach in rear. I like them at the price point and they are like a 5100 but they dial down the harshness.

Pros: good price point
Cons: similar to 5100

Bilstein Shock absorbers

N3s are nice for on road driving. They offer a plush ride. Everyone says go Bilstein 5100, and while they do perform better off-road, they are noticeably firmer on the street.

Pros: plush ride
Cons: firmer on the street

It’s firm but not rough and it handled wheeling around Southern Colorado and NW New Mexico just fine, even fully loaded. I’m beyond impressed considering the cost.

Pros: handled wheeling fine
Cons: firm ride
Vehicle: Lexus GX

I just slapped the full dobinsons nitro 2" lift on my 2006 sport with their confort/stock feel springs. Was about $1600 which included the rear coil conversion kit. Installed it myself on a saturday, then got it aligned at a shop. I previously had 5100 struts when I was sock height with the airbags for about a year, and the dobs shocks are noticeably better.

Pros: noticeably better shocks
Vehicle: Lexus GX

If you decide to go this route, Gabriel Ultra shocks and struts from Rockauto.com are good. Avoid Monroe and the cheaper brands. KYB are OEM, but the aftermarket ones are stiffer than the OEM, but are excellent quality.

Pros: Gabriel Ultra shocks good
Cons: Monroe, cheaper brands avoid

Bilstein Shock absorbers

The Bilsteins put somewhat of a level on it, and this may be a n00b question, but curious if they can be modified to add a couple inch lift to the truck? It could use it with the bigger tires.

Pros: levels the truck
