Owner reviews for oil filter
The $120 JiffyLube price is what got me doing my own changes….very therapeutic!
I enjoy it. Best GF-6A synthetic is 28$, best filter WIX is 10$, crush washer 25cents.
Disposal responsibly.
BTW the oil change places, use the worst filter and don’t change the crush washer…
CRV 250K miles. Burns no oil. Think it’s working ?
Just a regular Honda PLM filter. Engine was designed with that filter in mind. Still under warranty as well, rather use oem.
I use WIX 51036XP with synthetic oil on my 97 Tahoe since I own the truck (60.000 miles) and oil pressure is great.
I’ve always used fram. They get the job done, and never had issues.
I had an e90 with the n52 engine. When i first got the car i installed a Mahle filter that fit. After a bit of driving the engine started making weird noises, similar to vacum leaks. And I did som research. Apperantly my experiance was common with "aftermarket" oil filters. Switched to Mann filter on my next oil change, specificaly the same variant as the right one in your picture. The problem disappeared instantly. Also the Mahle filter had kind of colapsed in on itself.
I replaced the Mann filter on my Golf 6. It was easy to install and the quality is excellent.
VW Touareg V6 roughly $600 at an independent euro mechanic for regular service
Yup, they’re trash. I had the same thing happen to me in my Cruze when I used a fram oil filter. I have been using ACDelco oil filters for the last few changes with no issues.
WIX. AC Delco used to be my go to for gm vehicles but some years back they switched out metal parts for plastic and the filters started to have a higher failure rate.
