Owner reviews for oil filter
* Sechs Liter Motul 300V 5W-30 = 90€
* HKS-Ölfilter, da der originale Ölfilter nicht mehr passt = 30€
Knapp 40€ für 6Liter Addinol 5W40, ca. 10€ der Filter, 1,50 für die Ölschraube.
I use amsoil, pricy but the filter is what's really worth it and before I changed my valve seals I burnt quite a bit less, it went from a quart every 800-1k miles to a quarter quart in that same time frame.
I try and buy MANN oil filters when I can. A mechanic told me that at least on the old Volvo I once owned (92’ Volvo 940 sedan) MANN oil filters have an extra oil passage within the filter and that they are superior. I would assume this is true for the rest of their products.
Personally the only filter I’d use is Mann. K&N air filters suck definitely wouldn’t trust them with an oil filter.
I've had my truck nearly 30 years now and DIY'd DOZENS of oil changes. I've not once used an OEM filter. I use whatever's on sale, preferably K&N or Mobil 1, but often Fram or Purolator or whatever was on sale.
I can count on zero hands the number of times the brand of filter has affected my Taco.
I'd much prefer to pay the extra to get decent materials and parts.
Filtrele le cumpar de la Autokarma ,Knecht,Hengst,Mahle.Niciodata Mann.M-am fript odata cu niste mizerii.
I do tend to be picky about filters though. I like Wix, OEM AC Delco, and Mobil 1. I will avoid Fram like the plague.
