I took it to the dealer today and they replaced the low pressure (in fuel tank) fuel pump. So far, so good.
Owner reviews for fuel pump
My 2008 3.6 Passat had been throwing CELs for fuel pressure off and on for a while. Then last week the N276 (Fuel Pressure Regulator valve in the High Pressure Fuel Pump) revealed itself as the source of the problem by failing completely. I got tons of misfires and surging on cold starts since the pressure in the fuel rail wasn't being regulated and maintained properly. Otherwise the job was pretty straightforward. I got a Hitachi HPP0014 from RockAuto as a replacement HPFP (original was a Hitachi as well). The plug for the N276 had a little gas in it, confirming that the N276 had failed internally at 15 years/125,000mi.
Use only Bosch brand in-tank and in-line pumps.
In Sept/Oct I had a new denso fuel pump put in. Denso fuel pump. Problem is fixed. I’ve been driving the truck like normal for months now. Happy to say this is solved.
Replaced it with an AirTex unit, and it chugged along just fine for 5 years till a rod started knocking...
fuel pump from KRAUF works fine in my ZJ 5.2 about 2 years without any issues.
I used a Delphi and it worked great. No issues at all.
I have them on two of my cars. I like the engine bay install the best. easier to do and quieter. The under the car version sounds like a busted chevy fuel pump sometimes. But after I upgraded the fuel filter the noise was reduced by half.
I once had the fuel pump fail in my CBR250RR... i bought an ebay pump, it lasted a month and broke. No biggy whatever... bought another one. It lasted 2 days... ordered a honda genuine for 10x the price and took a month to arrive... it lasted until the bike met its end on a diesel spin on a canyon road.
only a dead fuel pump in the middle of winter were issues with that S10
