My son cracked the pressure plate on my Subaru when I was teaching him to drive manual, had about 130k miles on it at that point. Mechanic said my flywheel didn't even need to be reurfaced, it was still like new.

Pros: still like new, durable
Vehicle: Subaru
Mileage: 209214 km

With that mileage I would check the status of the flywheel. Especially once they get oil on them from a bad RMS they degrade quickly.

Cons: degrades quickly with oil
Vehicle: Porsche

Luk Flywheel

I can answer that. i too upgraded my clutch in my 6R with a RSR kit from HS Tuning and even though my stock original flywheel was not too bad of a shape, i opted to have it replaced since i was putting everything else new. So i opted with the LUK version.

Pros: stock flywheel replaced
Vehicle: Volkswagen Golf

Luk Flywheel

I read somewhere that some aftermarket flywheels (maybe Luk) were manufactured incorrectly and cause problems like the one you have now.

Don't buy the Nissan Rogue with a CVT transmission. It is a headache. My flywheel has broken down twice in six months. It is expensive to fix it because repairing the flywheel is considered a transmission job.

Cons: expensive to fix
Vehicle: Nissan
