VALVOLINE Engine oil

Rating 5.0

Vehicle: Opel Corsa

VALVOLINE Engine oil

Rating 5.0

I noticed that the engine was way smoother (way less vibration) when lightly lugging the gears at 1600 - 1800 rpm on the Valvoline vs the stock oil or Castrol Magnatec. The Valvoline did the same on my 2022 BRZ vs the stock oil and the dealership bulk Magnatec. I also tried Shell oil and the Valvoline is by far the smoothest below 2000 rpm. Almost no oil burnt or evaporated in between oil changes on both cars (less than 100ml per 3k miles) with the Valvoline Advanced.

Pros: smoother engine, less vibration, no oil consumption
Vehicle: Subaru

Eneos Engine oil

Rating 5.0

I have used Eneos 5w30 in it since I bought it. This is a group 5 oil and I believe that it saved my ass. Last summer going to work my car blew the top radiator hose off. I was about 3 miles from work and so I decided to just drive it. The temp gauge was pegged all the way. Come to find out my radiator inlet broke since it was plastic. I was able to get the hose back on after work and filled it up with coolant. Replaced the radiator with an aluminum CSF two row and knock on wood everything has been good since. Not losing water or oil and no smoke coming out the tailpipe or anything.

Pros: engine protection, no oil/water loss after overheating
Vehicle: Subaru
Mileage: 95000 km

OEM Subaru Engine oil

0w20 provides your engine with more wear protection .

There is minimal difference between 0w16 and 0w20, with 0w20 provided marginally better wear protection and 0w16 providing slightly better fuel efficiency since it's slightly thinner and provides less internal resistance.

Pros: better wear protection
Cons: less fuel efficiency
Vehicle: Subaru

Mobil Engine oil

Make sure you don't run Mobil 1. Subaru engines tend to shear Mobil 1 down to a lower weight oil quickly.

Cons: oil shears quickly
Vehicle: Subaru
