Owner reviews for brake pads

Manufacturers
Akebono Brake pads

I've had good luck with Akebono ceramic pads and whatever rotors RockAuto has on sale that aren't the cheapest option. Stay away from those super budget pads from unknown brands - learned that lesson the hard way when they turned to dust after like 6 months

Pros: good luck with Akebono
Cons: pads turned to dust

OEM Honda Brake pads

Nice. 2011 here (also bought new) but I did all four brakes at 68K miles. They had some life left in them according to the shop, but they just started feeling a tad soft, and my brake pedal was getting a little to close to the floor for comfort.

Pros: 15 years of ownership
Cons: AC is weak
Vehicle: Honda Fit
Mileage: 68000 km

POWER STOP Brake pads

I have used powerstops basic kit on Amazon for years now and had no problems. They say they're a "street upgrade" but they're just good quality pads and rotors.

Pros: good quality, no problems

Rating 3.0

Meiner Erfahrung nach bremst das genauso gut wie andere Bremsen, das Problem ist nach 10tkm sportlicher Fahrweise sind Beläge und Scheiben leer, normale Fahrweise max 20tkm. Felgen Kohlschwarz weil natürlich mega viel Bremsstaub in kurzer Zeit.

Pros: bremst genauso gut
Cons: Beläge und Scheiben leer
Mileage: 10000 km

OEM Audi Brake pads

Ditching my 2024 SQ5 for something without throttle lag and brakes that you have to press through the floor to engage. Audi says “drives as designed” and nothing they could do so I’m out.

Cons: throttle lag, poor brakes
Vehicle: Audi SQ5
