Raybestos Brake pads

Raybestos has always treated me well. They feel close to OEM but last longer and stop stronger under load. I've run them on work trucks and they held up fine with trailers.

Pros: close to OEM, last longer, stronger stopping, good for towing

Raybestos Brake pads

Went Raybestos and they have been good so far. I wasn't impressed with the pads machining quality though. They just looked rough, but I haven't had any issues in 20k miles with some towing use.

Pros: good performance, no issues, good for towing
Cons: rough machining quality
Mileage: 20000 km

OEM Subaru Brake pads

Every single time I install non OEM brakes on my Subaru they warp within a year, my Subaru brakes always last me 3+years. I have replaced about a dozen brake kits in my driveways. The Subaru brakes are the best.

Pros: last 3+ years, best quality

OEM Chevrolet Brake pads

Changed my front pads on 2021 Silverado and had same issue. Dash lit up with warnings and checking engine light. Disconnected battery for 30 plus minutes, pressed brake pedal 2/3rd way down and held for 45 seconds and released slowly, waited 15 seconds and repeated. Did this process for the entire 30 minutes. Reconnected negative terminal on battery and that cleared all warnings except check engine light. Drove for short distance and engine light went off. Just can’t reset my brake pad wear setting, so thinking new sensor may be bad so I ordered a OEM replacement.

Pros: Cleared most warnings
Cons: Check engine light remained

GENERAL MOTORS Brake pads

GM uses a harder wearing pad material so that they can claim that brakes are "essentially maintenance free" because it will take forever and a day to burn thru them under normal use, but at the expense of louder brakes.

Pros: long lasting
Cons: louder brakes

Bendix Brake pads

Rating 2.0

Driving a Saga MT 2024. Switched from the stock brakepads to Bendix Metal King's. Drove up and down Genting roads quite often, but damn, the braking grips are not what was advertised, and made worse during rainy days. Luckily I drove a manual transmission saga, so I could balanced out braking hard with employing low gear, to cater to a proper sudden stop, especially going downhill, with all the speed bumps up there. And the brake dust? Lord! It's like I painted my wheels with paint, each time I got home.

Cons: poor grip, excessive dust

EBC Brake pads

Strange but the EBC blue stuff pads had a bad flutter but when I switched to G-Loc pads it completely went away. So bizarre

Pros: flutter disappeared
Cons: bad flutter
