I’m running Carbotech XP10 in my AP’s and the cold squeal is obnoxious. Once they’re really good and hot it goes away but it’s definitely just a trade off of good pads. Mine drag every so slightly when turning the wheel by hand but never enough I’ve been concerned about it. They still work very, very well.

Pros: work very well, squeal goes away when hot
Cons: obnoxious cold squeal, slight drag

Best pads out there IMO. I've only put them on my car for the last 200k km. I'm due to change them for the 3rd time in the spring lol (90% highway driving)

Pros: best pads, long lasting
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 200000 km

POWER STOP Brake pads

Rating 4.0

Powerstops, they don't have the performance capablities of the OE pads (which are actually Ferodo 2500 compound), nor their semi-trackworthiness, but there is absolutely nothing you can do on street to exceed their capabilites. Plus, no nasty brake dust

Pros: no nasty brake dust, sufficient for street
Cons: lower track performance
Vehicle: Chevrolet

Swapped powerstop pads on to the fronts. Stopped the squeal, improved braking and now I have absolutely zero brake dust that used to be horrible with the original pads. The pads weren’t expensive, definitely worth it.

Pros: stopped squeal, improved braking, zero brake dust

Been using Bendix metal king for my cars. Yes the brake dust sucks, but the braking fade is superior.

Pros: superior fade resistance
Cons: excessive brake dust

Recently completed my HPDE and by the end of the day my stock pads were completely gone. Got my front rotors and all my pads replaced soon after that. I went for the Ferodo DS2500 pads. While bedding my pads, I noticed the brake feeling/bite is quite nice when braking at around 50-60% pressure, but once I tried emulating track style braking (i.e hitting brake pedal very hard) I noticed that my brake pedal was vibrating/rattling and also felt some sort of scraping was going on. This would happen even when hitting brakes hard from low speeds of ~30 mph. It's felt entirely on the front brakes. ABS did not engage, so I don't think the vibrations are from that. The obvious visible difference I see is the use of high temp brake lube from the shop.

Pros: good initial bite
Cons: vibrating pedal, scraping

EBC Brake pads

I legit just installed the same pads and rotors and the squealing is driving me nuts. It’s only from my passenger side and happens sporadically under light breaking. Everything I have read says it will go away. However I’m at about 400km and it’s still there.

Cons: squealing noise
Mileage: 400 km

I got about 500 miles on new EBC red pads and EBC rotors. They made so much noise when I first installed them, now only the driver side is still making a squeal on occasion. I assume the passenger side bedded and the driver side is close behind. My main question is for anyone who has these pads, do they ever chill out on brake dust? I can only assume they are not fully bedded in yet but holy god they dust like crazy. I can honestly say this whole experience has been terrible and EBC customer service is non-existent.

Cons: noisy, excessive dust
Mileage: 500 km
