OEM FORD Air filter

This made me go check if my car had one. It did even though it makes no sense on a convertible. So I changed it. 14 years and 70,000 miles and the filter was OE ford. The PO must not have known it was there or cared. It's like my A/c got a turbo mode now.

Pros: A/C got turbo mode
Vehicle: Ford
Mileage: 112654 km

if you want a performance oriented filter James Baron Racing sells a dry flow panel filter that's a drop in replacement for most 2012+ Mazda's. They're made by K&N but have no oil whatsoever. They flow better than OEM and they're cleanable. Probably your safest option.

Pros: better flow, cleanable

I went green filter and no lid at first. Added a ton of sound and enough turbo response to be noticeable. Recently added an RS lid bc I was worried about them being discontinued. It decreased the overall sound but made it better. It’s more high pitched like a tune 2JZ now.

Pros: noticeable turbo response, good sound
Cons: decreased overall sound

I went with the K&N high flow filter, keeping the cover on. I’ve noticed a bit of a difference, but I’m too scared to take the cover off, as I don’t want particulates in my engine

Pros: noticeable difference

K&N Air filter

I have run K&N's on all my cars as far back as I can remember. I'm waiting for spring when I can do a baseline comparision of HP before and after the K&N install with my GTECH Pro competition before I do the installation.

K&N Air filter

K&N filters let in too much dirt when they get older & after a few washes following instructions you can see right through them. Then when oiled, dust plugs them up very fast. When over oiled, the oil can destroy the MAF. All in all not worth the $60 for a panel.

Cons: lets in dirt, plugs fast, oil damages MAF, not worth price
Vehicle: Volkswagen
