Why did you get a higher amperage alternator? Did you sort out where the power drain was coming from before getting the new alt. Is the battery ok?

Years ago when I worked at the green guys, I went through 5 alternators for my W126 Mercedes with the 4.2 V8. It was like it would work for a month or two and then shit out.
Pros: worked for a month
Cons: shit out
You can clean it and put it back, but make sure the voltage is fine. This happened to a mercedes I was driving and it caused voltage spikes every time the engine would have a change in rpms.
Pros: can clean and reinstall
Cons: voltage spikes, electrical problems
