i had Continental DWS06 on my 2020 WRX, just switched to pilot sport A/S 3 this year. the pilots SUCKKKKK in the snow, glad i'm not the only one who's noticed. Definitely going back to my DWS06 after these pilots are done.
Pick from something like Michelin cross climate or Nokian WRG5. They will preform far better than an all season in winter but still useable in hot summer.
Pilot Sport A/S 3+ Basically no grip on anything cold and snowy. I don't know how any of you use these where it snows with any frequency.
As a rule, I prefer Michelin, but I’m not a fan of the Sport. Just had them put on mine and they’re not as good as the Primacy.
Great tires in Rain and snow. I live in the northeast and go to school in the Midwest. Served me through deep snow, Floods, unpaved freeways, and blizzards on my front wheel drive car. Absolutely love them. Only downside is slightly lower mpg by 1-2 just up the pressure a little.
Michelin, top tier premium tire. You get what you pay for.
I upgraded to Michelin CrossClimate's. They're good for fun and still good in the winter.
Pair that with a set of Michelin X-Ice snow tires and you will be completely invincible on the Minnesota roads.
I swapped my tires for a set of Michelin CrossClimate 2\u2019s once the treads on my Kumho wore off. The upgrade has been great, especially in the rain and snow.
I have Michelin Cross Climate 2 tires now on year around and they work pretty great. Not as good as my old setup with dedicated winter tires, but they're good enough. I'd say they work just as well as dedicated winter tires with fresh snow, so if you want to be able to handle a few unplowed inches then they do that excellently.
