I fitted a couple of Meyle control arms on a friend's BMW a few months ago and was impressed with them, particularly for the price, they came with replaceable ball joints too.

Changing these for the Meyle HD or TTRS bushings makes a huge difference in the steering feel of these cars.
I still like the original bushing and not the solid one. I like the idea of having my control arm play well for the up and down motion thus making the car ride better (kudos to vw engineers). my original bushing lasted around 8 years (not bad) and by that time I could hear some squeaky sound (no more squeak now) so I replaced it with the same type of bushing but not the expensive vw part.
I upgraded slightly by going with GLI brakes front and rear. Did basic Meyle rotors with Akebono ceramic pads. Couldn't be happier.
One i have ordered is meyle metal since they dont make plastic anymore.
I went with some Meyle HD's that I got from the UK for about half what a set of Koni's were going to cost me even during their sale. So far so good, they ride really pretty well, I would have likes a bit more rebound dampening but I'm a fan of Koni yellows on full stiff on most of the VW's I've setup for myself.
meyle brake pads were used also..still in the air how they perform..
They started deteriorating in less than a year; at a pretty shocking rate, actually.
I did a full rebuild of a B5 A4 and got the Meyle engine/tranny mounts. All went well until I got to the point of fastening everything down. One of the bolt holes in the right tranny mount just didn't take - If I remember correctly it stripped just while I was threading it in with a socket wrench.
I bought meyle ones from ecs and they are shot. Maybe 20,000 miles on them.
