K&N Air filter

I had a Jeep with a K&N air filter with the "do not discard- permanent filter" stickers on the air box. I loaned it to a friend for a few months, and to thank me, she took it in to get the oil changed. They told her the air filter was oily and needed replaced, and she told them OK.

Cons: oily, needed replaced
Vehicle: Jeep

K&N Air filter

K&N filters aren't really worth it as the increased air flow isn't going to result in any significant gains since air/fuel ratio is computer controlled anyway. Not to mention you would really need better exhaust and a tune to take full advantage of increased air flow. Also, if improperly oiled, they can cause MAF sensor issues.

Cons: not worth it, no significant gains, can cause MAF issues

Have a 2025 TPP. Just put in a K&N air filter for about $50. Seems to breathe better and maybe adds a couple HP. I like to think it does lol.

Pros: better breathing, more HP

SKIP the K&N filter. Not worth it at all. The oil that the K&N filters require can screw up sensors down stream.

Cons: not worth it, screws up sensors

K&N Air filter

I have the washable K&N air filter in my car. Buy it and the cleaner and never get tricked into a new filter again. Wash it every 6 months (fall and spring for me) and it’s as good as new.

Pros: washable, reusable, good as new
Vehicle: Chevrolet Bolt

K&N Air filter

I’ve run K&N on every vehicle I’ve owned for over 20 years. Without issue. If I known I’m going to be off-roading for a weekend, I clean and oil it before and after. If you live in dust all the time then stay paper. If you highway drive 6 days a week and try to get off-road occasionally got K&N

Pros: no issues, long use

I have used K&N's in a few vehicles over the years - no problem with them for longevity, and no complaints about performance (hp difference is negligible and over the longer term, they don't not appear to have contributed noticeably to any additional engine wear)

Pros: no problems, good longevity

K&N Air filter

Mahle is decent i believe they are OEM supplier for BMW and alot Europe vehicle as compared to Acdelco for GM and domestic vehicles not talking filters just in general there.

I'd just go with the K&N as you seem to want the best bargain for the $. These K&N filters are very good and will be the last time you buy a air filter. Simply next time you need to replace what I do is spay clean through both side with a garden hose. Air dry, spray a lil oil on it "k&n" re-oil. The oil is what collects the dust. And reinstall back in the car. Plus there proven to add 1 or 2 HP.

I actually use one in my 21 Civic type R, recently cleaned and reinstalled for the 3rd time.

Pros: long lasting, good value
Vehicle: Honda Civic
