OEM KIA Alternator

I have a 2013 Soul !. Got it about 2 years ago. Very reliable, only had one issue and that was the alternator going out on me a few weeks ago. 182k miles on it. It doesn\u2019t consume oil at the same pace others mention. It does currently idle a little rough, but Not terribly.

Pros: very reliable
Cons: rough idle
Vehicle: Kia Soul
Mileage: 182000 km

OEM KIA Cabin filter

I'm glad to find you asked this question cause my car is currently at the dealer and they wanted to charge me $100 for the cabin air filter and engine air filter. I'd rather save some $$ and do it myself.

Pros: save some money
Cons: void the warranty
Vehicle: Kia

OEM KIA Headlights

Rating 2.0

The best option for an OEM look is to buy the rest-of-world LED projector matrix headlights and replace the existing U.S.-market reflectors. I agree, the US EV6 headlights are not good. The low beams are OK, but the high beams are useless.

Pros: OEM look
Cons: high beams useless
Vehicle: Kia

OEM KIA Head gasket

Rating 0.5

The Kia Stinger is a mechanics nightmare. I've seen more of those with blown head gaskets than on the road.

Cons: mechanics nightmare, blown head gaskets
Vehicle: Kia

OEM KIA Brake pads

  • Braking:
Rating 2.0

Factory tires are garbage, but good all seasons and it gets around in the snow fairly well. My rear brake pad that had little wear, fell apart while driving in the mountains around the same time ( not covered ), I have never seen or heard of this happening before here or on other vehicles.

Pros: good all seasons
Cons: factory tires garbage
Vehicle: Kia Soul

OEM KIA Ignition coil

Rating 1.0

my friend's 2019 with only 40k miles currently has a misfire (codes show misfire for cylinder 1 and 3). Googled it and there is a Youtube video with the exact same codes on a Rio so not uncommon IMO. Either an ignition coil is bad or compromised head gasket.

Cons: misfire, ignition coil bad
Vehicle: Kia Rio
Mileage: 64373 km
