They did Honda City "Sports" and gave CVT for crying out loud.
On a positive note, the Honda CVT transmissions are bulletproof. There are hundreds of not thousands of 10-year-old CVT K24 Honda Accords and 1.5L non turbo CVT Honda Fits going strong at 200,000-400,000 miles with original transmissions.
Unfortunately the recent Honda CVTs (the cvt im my old Nissan was worse!) have tons of issues and reliability concerns.
Not blown up yet.
2005 model, bought used 2015 at 68,000 miles (109,000km) and still have at 235k mi (378k km).
Insufficient pressure causing slipping if trying to accelerate in reverse. Will reverse at idle fine. Been like that since I got it, no better or worse now. No issues forwards. No juddering of start clutch. Drain/refill of CVT-F every 25k mi (40k km).
Will repair it as necessary when it fails.
I’ve had a 2022 Honda Civic Sport that is a CVT. The CVT in the Civic is much more reliable without any issues
175k on my Civic that's first year Civic to have one. Admittedly it was a slight concern when I bought the car. I've really enjoyed the transmission.
Love my Honda civic cvt. So smooth. I make sure and stay on top of changing the transmission fluid. Cheap insurance.
Honda cvts pretty reliable. My wife’s accord shifts so smooth compared to the 6 speed auto in my Tacoma.
I own a Honda CVT, with these if you change the fluid every 30,000 you should be good as long as you don't constantly do jackrabbit starts / streetlight race.
CVT feels underpowered at times (ramdam mo yung parang rubber band).
