mixing ANYTHING with dexcool is a bad idea. Sister has a Chevy Malibu, takes dexcool, was low, boyfriend put in universal, an her car over heated. Told her to take to closest shop and have them flush and fill with dexcool. Hasn’t had any problems since. Do not recommend putting anything other than dexcool into a dexcool system

The alternator itself can get bad only if the bearings are shot. If you don't have play on the shaft, and it spins freely then the alternating part of the alternator is fine. What can get pretty bad are the diode rectifier bridge.
If you have the V6 4.3 it's one of the more dependable motors GM ever made. The factory alt is rated at 105 amps. Should be enough for your needs.
I replaced the front brakes with ones from a 2005 GM truck and the rear brakes with ones from a 2002 Chevy suburban.
I'd still be driving my 2003 Envoy if the dipchit on her phone hadn't run the red light and totaled it November 2017. I was 122 miles from rolling over 175,000. I replaced 2 wheel hubs, the fan clutch, 2 HVAC control units, and oil cooler. The drivers heated seat stopped working in 2015. Other than that it never left me stranded.
At 61,200 miles my 2020 GMC Terrain SLT had the turbo fail. At least they /think/ it was the turbo, which they replaced for a discounted price thanks to GM stepping in, since it would have been about $2500 and i was literally 1k out of warranty. 6 weeks after the turbo replacement, the car started doing the same thing, which was completely failing to accelerate.
I just had to replace my 2016 Buick Encores turbocharger with 52k miles on it. I bought an aftermarket turbo because I will not risk another GM piece of trash part.
taking it in to change the turbo charger for the third time ????♀️
Turbo was replaced in January this year with 68k miles. Engine light just came back on today, willing to bet it's the same damn code too - done with this car.
fuel pumps... Just seem to be shitty
