I put 96 Ford escort horn on my R6 haha. Didn't sound too goofy and was just that boost I needed.

OEM FORD Glow plug

Put in Ford glow plugs while you are in there. Cheap ones Ave gotten hot enough to melt and drop into the pistons.

Cons: melt, drop into pistons

OEM FORD Tool kit
ASTROoctopus
  • Completeness:
  • Organization:
Rating 4.5

I got it using the ford points I got from buying the truck. I like it a lot, and keep it under the rear seat along with some other recovery/emergency goodies. Not exhaustive by any means sure, but it feels reasonably well made, organized well, and is a solid toolkit that would cover most bases you'd need covering for something you keep in the truck.

Pros: well made, organized well, solid toolkit
Cons: not exhaustive
Vehicle: Ford Maverick

OEM FORD Clutch cable
dcjohnson50
  • Pedal effort:
Rating 3.0

From my experience, the adjustable clutch cables are the worst. I use a factory Ford cable and a firewall adjuster. Back in the early 90s when I replaced the factory clutch, I went with the Ford Heavy Duty replacement, but the pedal feel was heavy. Eventually went to a Cobra/King Cobra clutch, Ford cable, and firewall adjuster, aftermarket quadrant. Much nicer.

Pros: much nicer
Cons: pedal feel was heavy

OEM FORD Turbocharger

My 22 Bronco Sport OB had the turbo blow 5 weeks ago at 38,000 miles. I am still without an ETA on the replacement turbo... Paying a car payment on a crappy loaner car. Not thrilled!

Cons: turbo failure, no ETA on replacement, paying for loaner, not thrilled
Vehicle: Ford Bronco
Mileage: 61155 km

OEM FORD Head gasket
Avrg_AbE
  • Overheating:
  • Milky residue:
Rating 2.0

2018 Ford Escape Titanium 2.0

136,000 Miles just about had the same issue, the trembling and then noticing the coolant tank emptying but no leaks anywhere ????‍♂️ where we park. But the car still runs good an all. It overheated at first but then I filled up the coolant tank and everything was fine. But now every now and then I have to check the coolant tank to make sure it’s not completely empty and refill it

I have noticed some whiteish residue in the oil cap of the engine so that’s getting me worried. Mechanic told me the head gasket needs to be replaced and total labor is about $3300

Pros: car still runs good
Cons: engine trembling, coolant loss, head gasket issue
Vehicle: Ford Escape
Mileage: 136000 km

OEM FORD Water pump

Here’s my experience with the 2019 for what it’s worth:

Bought a 2019 with 5.0, xlt with 20k miles for $41k in Aug 2022.

-Water pump and vct’s replaced at 50k miles.

-New engine at 98k miles due to oil consumption (2 dealerships and 4 months later). Replaced in Aug of 2024

-102k miles the trans started acting funny, fully grenading at 112k miles. Replaced Feb of 2025

-126k miles and the transmission cooler fails midway through a 3hour trip with the pop up camper and family in tow.

Cons: transmission cooler fails
Vehicle: Ford
Mileage: 50000 km
