Reviews of OEM BMW starter motor

The same warranty saved my ass too. Starter in my 2020 SDrive.

If it doesn’t CRANK at all, like you turn the key and there is NO sound… the starter could be cooked.

So about 2-3 months ago I got my starter replaced at a BMW dealership and of course they installed in an OEM starter. However, I’m currently having issues with starting my car right now since it’ll intermittently start. There’s been two separate occasions (not back to back) where I would try to turn on my car and it wouldn’t turn on the first attempt and would give me a starter/ignition light. Then on my 2nd attempt on (both seperate occasions) it would turn on with good crank.

Just had this on our car - same year and model. Starter motor went bad while driving - stop/start activated at a red light - and that motor is what overheated.

Mine crapped out after my last track day (103k mi). Luckily I was with a ton of like-minded folks and was able to get them to help me push start the car so I could get home.

My brother in law\u2019s 2020 BMW X3 with 37K miles just had to have his replaced. Was at traffic light and it shut down and never came back on. Towed to dealer and starter replaced.

In all of my cars, I have always done it. '92 BMW 325i, and my '97 GTI. It is something that I feel should be done as others have said, makes it easier on the starter, I shut it off when I am pulling into my parking spot. I just turn the fans off.
