I installed the Bilsteins and I like them. Replaced what I believe were the original OEMs on my 2006 that had 120k miles on them, so the ride was pretty brutal.

Pros: like them
Cons: ride was brutal
Vehicle: Ford Ranger
Mileage: 193120 km

Bilstein Strut assembly

I have an 84 gti running Neuspeed sport springs. I just swapped out my Bilsteen strut inserts for Bilsteen struts. It's a nice tight and somewhat low setup.

Pros: nice tight setup
Cons: somewhat low
Vehicle: Volkswagen

Bilsteins are great. You will likely see a good boost in handling and feeling like a train when WOT applies. These should last at 200k before they are dying to be replaced.

Pros: good boost in handling
Mileage: 200000 km

Upon disassembly, I found the KYB Excel-G shocks were completely shot and offered no rebound. I installed Bilstein B4 "Touring Class" units. The no-name aftermarket strut bearings weren't doing the suspension any favors either and I was glad to get the new German Febi units. So far, so good

Pros: good Febi units
Cons: KYB shocks were shot
Vehicle: Volkswagen Scirocco

Looking at potentially going with Bilstein B6 shocks/struts and Steeda Ultra-Lite springs combo, as I've heard great things about each part/company individually though I haven't seen any reviews of them used in tandem, at least on the 2005-2014s.

Pros: great things heard
Cons: no tandem reviews

Look into Eibach shocks. I have bilstein 5100 on front with eibach in rear. I like them at the price point and they are like a 5100 but they dial down the harshness.

Pros: good price point
Cons: similar to 5100

N3s are nice for on road driving. They offer a plush ride. Everyone says go Bilstein 5100, and while they do perform better off-road, they are noticeably firmer on the street.

Pros: plush ride
Cons: firmer on the street

I used to have a factory set of optional Bilstein TRD Greys in my JZZ30 Toyota Soarer, they were on the firm side of things - could probably have benefited from a different spring rate.

Cons: on the firm side
Vehicle: Toyota Soarer

I had a 2018 Z71 and went with the Rancho RS 9000XL Quicklift. Was a great setup. I now have a 2020 AT4 and put on a set of the Bilstein 5100’s. Don’t like them at all. Ride quality is not much better than the factory and I still have the rear end hop going over bumps at speed.

Cons: rear end hop
