ATE Brake fluid
TodoJuku
  • Pedal feel:
Rating 5.0

Expect to chew through tires, brake pads, rotors, and brake fluid if you start tracking the car regularly. From my own experience, I recommend replacing your fluid with something better.

Pros: better brake fluid

ATE Brake pads

  • Braking:
  • Dust:
Rating 4.5

I put ATE on my 335is a year ago and am very happy with them. Almost no dust and good stopping power. When they were new, the initial bite was a bit weak, but that went away after break in.

Pros: almost no dust, good stopping power
Cons: weak initial bite
Vehicle: BMW

ATE Brake pads

For normal use, I recommend ceramic pads like ATE Ceramic, EBC green/red stuff or TRW D-TEC, since they're lower dust, and lower heat. Otherwise, go with Ferodo Premier eco friciton.

Pros: lower dust, lower heat

ATE Brake fluid

Rating 4.0

I used ATE dot4 SL6 ( 3 cans)* bleeding out all OE fluids! But I did carefully with just 10-12 psi ( Motive)* slowly, 15-20 psi personally for me is risky And probably I will do again next year to completely clear the old fluids, I believe there 5% left there Ate dot 4 SL6 is pretty good for 2 years, I had issue with traction and brake1 pressure sensor(g201-g214) for a year but after flushing it\u2019s gone, my OBD2 tell zero prob now than before flushing !

Pros: pretty good, zero prob
Cons: risky, 5% left

ATE Brake fluid

  • Pedal feel:
Rating 4.5

ATE DOT 4 brake fluid is more than enough except for the most severe track duty (I've autocrossed my car heavily without any issue using it) and is much cheaper than Motul.

Pros: sufficient for track, cheaper
Vehicle: Honda S2000

ATE Ceramic pads and ATE disks are my go to because they are OEM, but a little extra performance on top. Zero complaints at all from me and they are quite reasonable price wise too

Pros: good performance, reasonable price

ATE Brake caliper
brobs is back
  • Uneven wear:
Rating 3.0

ok so those are the front calipers on my mk1 golf.. (83 golf GL... german market) they are ATE brand and are stamped VWII looking at the rotors and pads it seems something funky is going on. the contact area on the rotor seems tiny.. and the pads hang off of it (the contact area) really far. so basically there is a tiny clean part in the center and the edges are all super rough and rusty.

Cons: contact area seems tiny
