Zimmermann Brake discs

Rating 5.0

Anyway 09 Tig SE and went with Zimmerman Rotors and brembo pads. Alls I have to say is a good choice. Not low end - not super deluxe - assume all Made in Europe. happy with the quality of hwy braking and that’s all that matters for me.

Pros: good choice, happy with quality

BRIDGESTONE Tires

Rating 4.0

My 2018 Tiguan S came with Bridgestone Ecopias. They're nice and quiet. A 2018 Tiguan S loaner that I drove for a week had the Continentals. I'm not sure if it's just in my head, but I think the Ecopias are smoother and quieter.

Pros: nice, quiet, smoother

KONI Shock absorbers

Rating 4.0

I installed a pair of Koni Special Actives in the rear, but didn't have time to do the front yet. Initial impressions (remembering that I only have the Koni installed in the rear): - Compression damping feels about the same as what I remember newer OEM valving feels like. - Hitting small to medium bumps feels pretty good. It's firm but still controlled. Probably a little better than stock. - In low-frequency mode there is a little too much rebound damping. I noticed this when driving past expansion joints on the freeway that form a /\\ shaped ramp. The rear feels like it's being picked up and then dropped. It's subtle though. - In high-frequency mode there might be too little rebound damping. I noticed this when corning hard on smooth roads with occasional rough patches. The Tiguan tilts a little more than I would have expected. But since my front dampers are still worn this really isn't a fair evaluation yet (roll couple is way off). I'm not sure what I feel about the FSD valving yet. The change in valving from the FSD is a little "weird" if I'm paying attention to it. I would say that there is a touch too much rebound, but that gives the impression of sportiness. I think for most people these would be pretty good dampers. They feel sporty but still handle bumps well.

Pros: sporty, handles bumps well
Cons: too much rebound damping
Mileage: 80000 km

Pirelli Tires

Rating 5.0

Today I was able to return the Bridgestone Alenzas and have a different shop set me up with Pirelli Scorpion Verde 235/55/R18 All Season Plus tires and..... AWESOME. These tires are big feeling and grippy, quiet at highway speeds, AND the car is so much more responsive. I can;t compare to tires that I have not tried on this car, but these are a major upgrade from the Continentals that came stock and a very awesome place to be.

Pros: big feeling, grippy, quiet

Rating 3.0

I have a 2018 Tiguan and it started having the same issues every so often, then suddenly on the highway it went into limp mode restricting the engine to 4K rpm... turns out two cylinders weren\u2019t receiving fuel so those two injectors had to be swapped... under warranty thankfully!

Pros: under warranty
Cons: limp mode, fuel issue
Vehicle: Volkswagen Tiguan
