New rotors and brake pads from http://autohausaz.com . ATE rotors and Mintex pads. Notice grease on rotors...I washed it off with dishsoap and water, but there is spray you can buy that makes it real easy as well.

Used the BC green on my Jetta with cross drilled rotors...it stopped very nice and bust was low.

Textar is the OEM brand..which of course you can get from 1stVWparts.

I run HP+ now on the jetta and they scream when cold, I could care less, they stop really well when you need it.

If you'd like to correct the brake balance, put some higher cF pads on the front axle only. Hawk HPS works well. Leave the rear with OEM pads. Seems counterintuitive, but this will prolong the life of the rear pads and reduce ABS activation on hard stops.

The most economical upgrade for street use is just beefy pads. Try Ferodo DS2500 on the front axle with your OEM 11.3" rotors combined with Hawk HPS on the rears.

My car needs brakes really bad. I had the Front pads replaced at about 60k miles, and it cost me $400 (From a local shop, parts had to be ordered direct from VW). The rears needed replaced then, but I couldn't afford it and just now have the extra cash to do them and figure I will do all 4 brakes at the same time. Also decided to buy parts online because it seems to be MUCH cheaper (Only place I can find local stocking the correct parts is VW, and they are pretty pricey of course). I figured Amazon would be the first place to look (Because I shop there for everything, and have Prime so I get free shipping on everything). The problem is, I cannot find rear brake pads at a similar price, anywhere I look. I figured Power Stop would have a similar pair for the back, but I cannot find them on Amazon (They have such a crappy search function for auto parts). I have tried searching various other sites that carry the above linked pads (Summit, Jegs, THmotorsports) but all of them either don't show rear pads, or their site doesn't search properly. I even tried the Power Stop website to find a parts number but when you 'select your car' the only VW option is Passat. It's driving me crazy. Anyone have an idea of either the parts number for the rear power stop brakes, OR a link to some good similarly priced rears (or front and rears)??? I've read some other threads where people have had to replace their brake pads at 20k miles or so, some think it was due to a tight emergency brake forcing the brake assist to clamp.
