Goodyear Tires

I installed the WeatherActive's on my Toyota Sienna. I'm at 30k miles and only have 3/32 tread left. Warranty is supposed to be 60k miles. The WeatherActives are great tires that hold the road well and let me drive a Toyota Sienna like a sportscar.

Pros: great tires, hold road well
Cons: tread wears quickly
Mileage: 30000 km

Brembo Brake discs
mech986
  • Braking:
Rating 4.5

Bought new 2004 Sienna XLE Braun handicapped conversion with 240K miles still going strong but only 14 mpg. Another 2004 Sienna Limited bought used in 2013 w/130K miles now 210K miles. I’ve replaced the suspension on both, added 3rd generation Big Brake calipers, Pads (use Akebono or Advics) and rotors (Fremax, Brembo, or Raybestos in order of quality) to get better braking, see SiennaChat for details.

Pros: better braking, going strong
Cons: low mpg
Vehicle: Toyota Sienna
Mileage: 210000 km

OEM Toyota Piston rings
dirtee_1
  • Oil use:
Rating 3.0

I’m starting to burn in little oil in my 2.7l 1ar-fe in my 2012 sienna at 272k miles. I guess the low-friction piston rings can get gummed up with extended interval oil changes and start scoring the cylinder walls and cause this issue.

Pros: trouble-free miles
Cons: burning oil
Vehicle: Toyota Sienna
Mileage: 437741 km

Gates Water pump
PJBeee
  • Overheating:
Rating 0.5

Gates water pumps failed on both my friend's Toyota Echo and my Sienna, his after under a year and mine in about 2 years. Less than 3,000 miles on my Sienna since pump was changed. Ugh. The labor cost, of course, is the bee-atch, more than the pump cost, of course.

Cons: pumps failed, high labor cost
Vehicle: Toyota Sienna
Mileage: 4828 km
