Joyroad Tires

I bought a set of 4 Joyroad RX808 Winter tires for 280$ in November 2024. I needed them for my 2006 Corolla CE. We had a mix of snow and ice storms in Montréal this year and these tires were much better than my previous set of Goodyear tires which cost $195 each. Excellent grip while driving and braking both on snow and ice. I could drive right out of small snow drifts (the Corolla isn't that high).

Pros: excellent grip, better than Goodyear
Part number: RX808

MICHELIN Tires

I put CC2s on my 17 Corolla. I was worried that it would be overkill, but as someone who has pretty much always cheaped out on tires, the upgrade was unbelievable. I live in Seattle, so we don't get a lot of snow. They handle extremely well in the rain.

Pros: handles well in rain

YOKOHAMA Tires

Yeah the Avid GT’s were on some Corolla wheels I bought. Good tires, nice and quiet. Low roll resistance as well was getting like 49-51 mpg in the summer before I switched to snow tires.

Pros: nice and quiet
Cons: switched to snow tires

Falken Tires

Falken WinterPeak F-Snow 1. It's one of the cheapest winter tires - about $80/tire in the 195/65R15 size - but test results show it competes well with the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R5, Continental VikingContact 7, and Michelin X-Ice Snow, which are the gold standards in premium winter tires. It looks like the Falken suffers a little with dry handling, so just don't drive your Corolla like a sports car. The Falken is still competitive in the wet, snow, and ice, which is where it really matters.

Pros: competitive in wet, snow, ice
Cons: suffers with dry handling

Uniroyal Tires

I ended up getting an Uniroyal summer tire for it as it was considerably cheaper than the Conti. Anyway, from tests I gathered that it is supposed to be top tier in wet condition and mid at best in dry. I have used for over a year now as my situation changed and ended up keeping the Corolla for the time being. I used it around 15k km so far in wide variety conditions, from 0 Celsius up to 40 and so far have zero issues. There is no sign of wear and tear, thread is still deep, no dry rot and driving never felt unsafe or had any other issues.

Pros: top tier in wet
Cons: mid in dry condition
Mileage: 15000 km

DUNLOP Tires

For summer, I am still using the stock Dunlop Enasaves. They are quiet and efficient generally, but make a lot of noise in the corners.

Pros: quiet, efficient
Cons: noisy in corners

Rating 2.0

First came with Michelin tires, had no complaints about them, second came with Dunlop's and they are trash. The tires are loud, and pick up rocks and small pebbles on the outer and inner edges of the tires, that don't fly out while driving. Tires have less than 15k km on them. It's caused some vibration and I've had to manually take them out from time to time.

Pros: no complaints about Michelin
Cons: loud, picks up rocks
Mileage: 15000 km
