Kumho Tires

2020 Elantra SEL with the Kumho TA31s I currently have 64,700 miles on the stock tires… So far they’re good tires I think.

Pros: good tires
Cons: uneven tire wear
Mileage: 64700 km

MICHELIN Tires

I replaced my 21 Elantra OEM Kumho tires at 25k; although, they certainly could’ve gone a while longer but I had recently moved north and they weren’t cutting it in the snow.

Put some Michelin CrossClimate 2’s on it and haven’t looked back. Great tires.

Pros: great tires
Cons: weren’t cutting it
Mileage: 25000 km

Rating 5.0

Anyway, on my 2022 Elantra Hybrid Limited, I replaced the stock wheels and tires with 15" aluminum wheels and Yokohama Avid Ascend GT 195/65R15 to improve ride quality and durability (pothole resistance).

Pros: improve ride quality, durability

Continental Tires

The Contienental tire, conti pro contact, has performed well in everything I've thrown at it. Not a great replacement for winter tires, but has handled all of my driving.

Pros: handled all driving
Cons: not winter tire replacement

OEM Hyundai Timing chain

chains aren't like belts where they really wear down and need replacement as a normal service routine. I've touched thousands of Hyundais from my time as a dealer tech and I can't even recall if I ever replaced a timing chain for an issue that wasn't caused by something else. They're built to last the life of an engine.

Pros: built to last, rarely replaced

MOOG Tie rod ends
TheKratomCloner
  • Steering play:
Rating 1.0

Very unhappy with this company right now. I was lucky to get US made tie rod ends as well, but one of the damn things popped a hole rather than grease escaping from bottom like the other side did.

Cons: boot popped a hole, grease escaped incorrectly
Vehicle: Hyundai Elantra

MOOG Tie rod ends

I’ve had the same problems with moog. I received two tie rod ends with the wrong size cage nuts. Ended up buying my own cage nuts and never got a reply from customer service.

Cons: wrong size nuts, poor customer service
