I’ve found that Motorcraft platinum spark plugs work best in my 1998 Ford Ranger. I tried Bosch plugs and it ran terribly. Nothing but Motorcraft from now on (for Fords).
Ford Ranger parts reviews
Ok, so here’s my anecdote: a friend of mine had an old Ranger that had an oil pump failing. He didn’t want to pay me or anyone else to pull the engine and replace the pump so I suggested he just throw a bottle of this in there and see what happens.
Well, his oil light went off and oil pressure improved.
My 2000 Ford Ranger with a 4-cylinder and manual is just about the simplest vehicle that could exist. SOHC engine, so not much that can go wrong in it. It's very satisfying to work on because you don't experience the shitty feeling of knowing you spent way longer on something than it should have taken.
I have Westlake SU318's on my Ranger now and they are cheap and fantastic. Great wet grip and very quiet.
I went with nice, inexpensive low-pressure KYB shocks and they're about right for my use.
belstein 4600's are a great stock replacement, they came factory on the fx4 level 2's.
I have the Falken Wildpeaks A/T3W on my Ranger and so far so good. Pretty quiet for the most part and excellent grip.
i have Billstein 4600's on my ranger and love them.
I am very happy with these shocks. Beating the crap out of them in a city that has potholes and roads that would swallow a Smartcar.
My uppers were trashed on my ranger but my lowers weren’t far behind. A ford ball joint can’t hang with the weather.
