I put a GPD in a ford escape last year, has held up so far...
Fomoco plugs are actually pretty good. I replaced my Ford Escape with some more expensive Bosch and had misfires immediately. Got some Fomoco’s from O’Reilly and haven’t had an issue since.
First was moving from AZ to VA. Started overheating in the middle of Oklahoma. they were able to quickly diagnose the failed fuel pump and got us back on the road in a few hours at a fair price.
I have a 2011 Escape Hybrid 2.5L with about 175,000 kms. I run Valvoline Advanced 0W-20 full synthetic as recommended by my mechanic. I've found it much better on fuel economy in colder weather than the 5W-20 for multi-seasonal use, especially in colder weather regions (I live in BC, Canada).
It might have thought the ignition switch was still turned, meaning it thought the key was still in it. They do get pretty worn
I heard Kumho don't last very long, but are good for the first 10,000 miles and not good at all by 30,000 miles.
A bearing went in our original alternator so I replaced it with a Valeo brand and it's pretty loud when it clicks on. It is loud enough that I'm wondering if I got a bad alternator --or is this normal??
It's the typical whirl or whurr noise --it's silent, and then you can hear the whirl or whurr noise when the alternator clicks on. It seems mechanically and electrically fine: It's doing what it should be doing electrically (charging, correct voltage, the battery is happy, the car runs better with this new alternator, etc.). It's just loud.
I've got a 2017 ford escape needs a new alternator costs 1100 $, wtf for a Ford not happy.
At 70,000miles it started making a water sound right after turning it off. Months later I noticed a white smoke coming from the tail pipe. One day it gave me that code and started sputtering. Turns out the head gasket had cracked and was letting coolant into my engine pistons. It flooded it. I needed a whole engine replaced.
