MICHELIN Tires

I run Michelin Cross Climate 2’s. After switching to them from the OEMs I loved being able to brake hard, instead of activate the ABS and run out much longer. Energy consumption is up, I dunno, 10%? But I don’t road trip with it anyway. Also the tires are quieter and provide a more comfy ride.

Pros: brake hard, quieter, comfy ride
Cons: energy consumption up 10%

MICHELIN Tires

Went and got some Michelin Cross Climate 2. Took around a 12% range penalty, but they are so much better than the stock. I’ve noticed how much better the traction is, I’ve hit objects with no problem, and they’re holding up well.

Pros: better traction, holding up well
Cons: 12% range penalty

I have to say that the ions have been incredible. They’re quieter, they’re softer riding. They seem to have better handling… although to be honest, I’m not one that pushes the limits of the car so I can’t really say a whole lot about grip. I can’t say a ton about where yet because I haven’t had them lot long but I can say that I am currently averaging about 50 to 60°F for a temp and I am averaging 5.5 mi/kW at the moment doing mostly in town commuting.

Pros: quieter, softer riding
Cons: grip not fully tested

BRIDGESTONE Tires

I recently replaced my worn out stock tires (the OEM low rolling resistant EV friendly ones) on my ‘22 Bolt EV 2LT with Bridgestone Weatherpeak 215/50R17’s mainly due to a sale at Costco Tires. I wanted the snowpeak rating as winter is upon us. However, my efficiency dropped dramatically since, going from an average of 4.5 miles per KWh (even in the dead of winter averaging 30 degrees F) to around 3.1 miles

Cons: efficiency dropped dramatically
