My X3 windshield was like $2500 with BMW glass. Cheap aftermarket glass was only a few hundred dollars. I pushed my insurance to pay for the real deal.
BMW X3 parts reviews
I had to replace my X3 M40i and opted for the OEM windshield to ensure none of the above is compromised. It’s also the most visible and most used while driving so I personally wouldn’t cut corners for this.
I used SafeLite on my X3 and they used OEM glass and no problems. Everything works perfectly. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.
I put Falken Aklimates on my X3 6months ago and haven’t had any issues. Smoother ride that the Michelin’s I had. These are all-weather and good for light to medium snow. I’ve used Pirellis, Falken, Michelin, Continental etc and these handle as good or better. Benefits are that I don’t need to change from all seasons to winter now.
I have a 2012 X3. Just put Falken Aklimates 235/60R17 on.
My understanding is the OEM brakes have well-rounded performance. In spider chart terms, it would look like a round pizza with one slice taken off, and that would be due to dust. They still excel with high performance, solid longevity all at a reasonable cost
If it's still functional, remove it, dry the interior carefull with a heat gun and apply a silicon clear sealant around the headlight-- where the black and clear plastic meet. Put everything back together.
Thankfully they could install a new tire for ~$450 (Pirelli P7 Cinturato A/S).
I just experienced similar issue with my 2023 x3 m40i yesterday. Mysterious crack that appeared out of nowhere - starts at the top edge (roughly center of windshield), runs straight down vertically until top of bottom sensor, then splits horizontal in both directions.
My brother in law\u2019s 2020 BMW X3 with 37K miles just had to have his replaced. Was at traffic light and it shut down and never came back on. Towed to dealer and starter replaced.
