OEM BMW Throttle body
stevegolf
  • Throttle response:
Rating 4.0

The throttle body was also going at one point but I could still drive around. $50 for a used one and 45 minutes later I was good to go.

Pros: easy to replace
Cons: throttle body failing

Zimmermann Brake discs
DarkMythras
  • Braking:
  • Noise:
Rating 4.0

I just changed the front pads/rotors on my '04 325i to Zimmerman with the OEM Textar pads. Seem to work same as before, no complaints from me. They are dusty like people say, but I don't care too much about that.

Pros: works as expected, no complaints
Cons: dusty

NGK Spark plug
SchnellFowVay
  • Acceleration:
Rating 4.0

I use cheap-o copper NGK V-Power all copper plugs on my M Roadster that produce max power (according to a cohort of enthusiast whack-jobs who repeatedly dyno their cars to look for .0005% differences in power output), but need to be changed every year. No problems thus far.

Pros: produce max power, no problems
Cons: need frequent change
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 2500 km

OEM BMW Brake pads
TheDeckMan
  • Braking:
Rating 4.0

Great cars. They like to eat brakes in regular intervals. With 70k make sure there is no front end shimmy that is the result in worn control arm bushings/warped brake rotors.

Cons: eats brakes regularly
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 70000 km

GENERAL TIRE Tires

check out General Altimax Arctic tires, Im on my 3rd season and they have plenty of life left to them and made my E30 a champ in the snow.

Bosch Thermostat

I recently bought a BMW "aftermarket" thermostat + housing on eBay... the new part was OEM, made by Bosch, essentially identical, but the BMW logo had been ground off for some reason. I got a new, perfect part for literally 30% of the price of one down the street at the dealer, including shipping.

Pros: perfect part, great price

OEM BMW Brake pads
OEMplus.com
  • Braking:
  • Noise:
Rating 3.0

The way the brakes begin to grumble during heavy braking is less impressive, but they work well enough.

Pros: work well enough
Cons: grumble during braking

DUNLOP Tires

The OEM A/S Dunlop has a 92 sidewall rating; it certainly isn't "soft." it is, unfortunately, just a weak tire design/build in this case I've lost 3 already as well and currently running a 4th with a bubble... they suck

Cons: weak tire design
