Windshield Tesla or OEM Subaru

I had to have my windshield replaced and had Tesla do it and I’m happy with it.

Go with Tesla. They came to my apartment and did it while the car was in its parking spot plus you know they’re not gonna mess it up and if they do they’ll have to rectify it.

It is just a bad hit. Tesla glass is not garbage compared to other cars. My Infiniti glass was cracked at 17k miles with city driving, while my Model 3 only got its first crack at 60k miles with heavy freeway driving and got hit countless of times.

2022 Sport at 15k miles and the windshield has a few noticeable chips. It is only rarely driven on the interstate. It does seem unusual considering my Tesla Model 3 with 30k miles does not have a single noticeable chip.

EyeSight-enabled Crosstrek windshields are larger than typical and have far less curvature; therefore, they’re more vulnerable than otherwise.

This windshield chips and gets pits more easily than anything I’ve ever driven. I hate it. I keep a windshield repair kit on hand at all times.

Yeah, there is definitely some sort of weakness in the type of glass they use IMO. Picked up my MYLR (new 2023) in August last year…35K miles and 2 windshield replacements. Both times a small chip from a rock kicked up from a semi while traveling on the interstate walked all the way across the windshield within hours.

Terrible quality. I have both MY and M3 with cracked windshield. I’ve had BMW, Audi, Honda, Infiniti, Mitsubishi and never experienced cracked windshield.

2021 Model Y with 70,000 miles. One windshield replaced about 6 months ago. Encountered random rock on I-75 in Florida.

1 month of owning 2024 MY, 2 cracks on windshield. Went to repair shop 5 other model Y in shop getting repaired.
