I went with Tesla and was glad - they did the camera calibration and mobile tech came out a few days later to fix moisture issue. Also, sounds silly, but installed the windshield straight.
Remember you can get an OEM windshield from them but this doesn’t mean it will be set perfect since a human is actually installing it instead of a robot. If your windshield didn’t have a logo it wasn’t OEM.
My CPO had a fairly pitted windshield on delivery. Luckily it was replaced for delamination, the new one is holding up OK.
Replaced the windshield twice in a matter of months after delivery. It was an extremely frustrating experience.
Replaced my windshield 3 times within a year. First one was by rock chip from Amazon truck. Second one was by dead bird from the tree. Third one was by homeless in downtown SF.
it chips just as easy as the paint
I had two windshield cracks before I reached 20k miles.
I definitely have numerous chips. I thought maybe it was the aerodynamics of the Model S, but it might be the glass.
The original windshield on my 2018 Model 3 chipped, cracked and.had to be replaced within a year. Never had to do that with other vehicles and I baby this thing.
The Stinger windshields are notorious for picking up chips. I got 3 major chips in the first 5k miles compared to 1 in 100k+ miles of driving my other vehicles in my urban area where it doesn't snow.
