Windshield Tesla or OEM Honda

33k miles Model Y Perf - 0 cracks.

18 pilot here with 100k miles. Not one.

Got my windshield replaced on my MY23 a month ago by Tesla. Submitted claim to USAA, refunded back (Florida). This time got another crack and replacement again next week, going with Safelite. They can do the sensors and all. Paid by USAA.

It is just a bad hit. Tesla glass is not garbage compared to other cars. My Infiniti glass was cracked at 17k miles with city driving, while my Model 3 only got its first crack at 60k miles with heavy freeway driving and got hit countless of times.

Terrible quality. I have both MY and M3 with cracked windshield. I’ve had BMW, Audi, Honda, Infiniti, Mitsubishi and never experienced cracked windshield.

2021 Model Y with 70,000 miles. One windshield replaced about 6 months ago. Encountered random rock on I-75 in Florida.

1 month of owning 2024 MY, 2 cracks on windshield. Went to repair shop 5 other model Y in shop getting repaired.

I have never in my life gotten a chip or crack in my windshield. I’ve had my model Y for 10 days and I have TWO chips!! What the heck?? It’s a used 2021 and it’s not covered under warranty apparently

The Honda OEM windshield quality has deteriorated over the last number of years, due to pricing pressure. They used to be GREAT, but the pricing was out of control. Since Honda has found a new supplier, and lowered both the price and quality.

I put factory glass in my wife's new CR-V. It was nothing but drama. My Honda parts friend/ manager got me the glass at an excellent price but we had to check for damage before I signed for it. Out of the box it comes and was perfect. So load it back in the box, into the CR-V and off to the glass dude.
