I've got a big rock chip on mine I've been waiting for six months to spread and it won't.
almost 4 years under my belt in this car only one crack (sustained in what can only be described as windshield death valley on I-80 in WY)
Figured I should close out this thread by saying I did order the windshield after spending some time with the dealer and their computer. They told me no returns on it if I am wrong about it being the windshield. So $975 (before install costs) later it came in this week and is indeed the windshield.
Safelite put an OEM VW branded windshield in a year ago. No issues so far
My dad has a 2021 SQ5, and after an aftermarket windshield caused random issues with advanced safety features like ACC or Audi Pre-sense, we got an OEM Audi windshield and no more issues.
I've driven VWs for a long time now and I've always thought their glass was more susceptible to chips than other brands I've owned. Stone chips/cracks are pretty easy to get in VW glass.
I have one that has chips and one of the chips started cracking and now it’s going across my windshield ???? and according to car fax the previous owners replaced it twice before.
I had to replace my windshield twice within 6 months of purchasing my Q5. The 2nd cracks were caused by my husband flicking a mosquito inside the car with his fingers.
Audi glass is awful. My original windshield was full of black specks. When it cracked all the way across the middle
Audi windshield quality SUCKS. Mine had black spots on it that drove me nuts.
