Pilkington glass is my go to for any older Toyota as they were the oem supplier for most cars. They\u2019ll also accept glass back as defective if it doesn\u2019t calibrate.
They replaced with Pilkington glass and calibrated eyesight.
The glass we’re on now is a Pilkington, replaced and calibrated at a shop closer to home. This glass has lasted 3x longer than the others combined and recently took a strike from a nickel-sized rock :)
Pilkington>Carlex
Pilkington is waaaaay superior to whatever OEM supplier they use. Porsche, Land Rover, and many other luxury brands use Pilkington for their glass, and it holds up very well! My Cayenne's windshield is absolutely battered, and it's still on its original glass from 2012.
2015 and got a plinkton front windshield after oem cracked within a year, in all these years it’s taken quite a few rocks with no damage at all, I’m quite happy with it.
The Pilkington windshield is fine, but the rain sensor has been much glitchier than with the original windshield.
Had our 24 less than 9 mos- on our 3rd windshield- theres gotta be a problem
All my glass I get from Pilk is always scratched to shit
I just installed a Pilkington glass yesterday on a 2025 Camry. Distortion on the passenger side just as you described. Couldn’t tell until I was driving it for the dynamic.
